Frequently Asked Questions
I set up and turned my BP monitor on, but the cuff won’t inflate. What should I do?
Make sure the cuff is attached to the left hand side of the monitor, not the right, and try again. The right side of the monitor is designed to house a DC Power adapter plug, if the cuff is attached to it, it won’t inflate as there will be no air being pumped into it. If the machine turns on and the cuff is attached to the left hand side of the monitor, but it still won’t inflate, make sure that the batteries you’re using have enough charge in them (although, the batteries you receive with the device should be full, it is always worth trying an alternative set), and exchange them for new ones, if necessary.
What’s the difference between Systolic and Diastolic blood pressure?
Blood pressure is measured using two numbers: The first number, called systolic blood pressure, measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats. The second number, called diastolic blood pressure, measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats.
Myblood pressure varies throughout the day. Is that normal?
Yes, that’s perfectly natural. Blood pressure may change up to 20mm within a day. Different factors like time of day, your state of mind, or the environment you find yourself in can all affect the reading. That’s why it’s important to try to take the readings regularly, like for example every morning at the same time.
My readings are different when taken at my GP practice. Why is that?
It’s a normal occurrence for the results to change when taken by a professional. This fact is well documented. Your blood pressure can be either lower or higher depending on the influence going to the doctor may have on you. Some people will notice an increase from the readings taken at home due to experiencing stress while the test is being administered. For others, the presence of a medical professional will be a calming factor, resulting in the reading being lower than usual.
My readings are inconsistent. Is there a reason behind it?
It is important to follow certain rules when taking a reading. Doing it at the same time every day may help with that. However, you should also consider if the cuff is positioned properly, you’ve removed clothing from around your upper arm, you’re sitting down comfortably, are relaxed, and are not talking or moving.
The reading can’t be taken, an error message is displayed on the screen. What should be done?
Refer to the manual. You’re most likely to encounter E01 or E02 error. The most common reason for them to appear is arm or body movement. If presented with such message, please tie the cuff again and take another reading, making sure you’re not moving or talking while the test is being taken.
How many readings can the monitor store, and how do I delete them?
Your BP monitor will store up to 99 readings for each user. When 99 records have been stored, the oldest one will be overwritten. You can also see the average of the last three results by clicking the Memory button. To delete the results please access the Memory Recall mode by clicking the Memory button twice and then holding the Memory button for 5 seconds.
What does it mean when the flashing Irregular Heart Beat symbol appears during the test?
Don’t worry it is normal for the icon to flash while the test is being taken, if you pay close attention, you’ll realise that the icon is an indicator of your heartbeat. If an arrhythmia is detected, the symbol will be shown with the result.

The cuff is size is 22 - 42 cm, and it’s suitable for small to large arm circumferences.
My BP machine started behaving abnormally, , i.e. unit switches off after a couple of seconds for no apparent reason. Is there anything I can do about it?
Well, of course. It’s always worth checking if the “abnormal” behaviour is not caused by depleted batteries. If you’ve already done that, then the next course of action would be to try to reset the device. You can do that by taking one of the batteries out of the battery chamber (leaving the other three in), flipping the monitor, pressing the Start/Stop or On/Off button for about 8-10 seconds, and then putting the other battery back in. This action will reset the device and its settings, which means that you will have to set the time and date again, your results, however, will not be affected by it.
Is the power adapter included with the OxiPro BP1 monitor?
Unfortunately, the power adapter is not part of the package. As a company, we do not sell power adapters, nor do we endorse any company which does. If you decide to power our product with the use of a power adapter, please make sure you chose one, which matches its power input.
